Hi everybody, I just need your help. Does anyone know what kind of printers, ink and paper should I get for making my own digital photo lab? I'm a freelance photographer and i want to print and sell photos at the same time. I would like to open a small section of studio so again i need my own printer for developing the photos. Also, I wanted to make calendars and postcards, which i have no idea about kinds of papers i should use. Maybe these printers are expensive, but i dont mind that. If anybody has an advice plz dont hesitate in replying me. Thanx a lot. Bye :)

Do I need to change my settings in photoshop if I want to print a picture I have retouched? I have a canon printer that claims to print photo lab quality and i bought hp advanced photo paper in 4x6. I tried print someting but it only printed like the a 1/4 of the image when I had alread resized it to a 4x6. The part that did print came out very smudged and heavly printed on. Hmmm...any suggestions?

I am looking for a home printer with a scanner that prints near lab quality photos and up to 8X10 photos. I would like the scanner to be a pretty good quality as well. i have always had a tri color ink and i am unsure of the 6 ink but if it doesnt cost an arm and a leg i will consider a 6 ink. I have been doing some research and seen HP C8180 does something with negative but i am not certain what it exactly does so any info would be helpful as well as which printer is the best for the buck.

Hi, i've got a 10 mega pixel dslr and i want a half decent printer that will offer me photo lab quality for the least amount of money. I'm looking for something that looks like a print done professionaly from film like i used to get with my film cameras. I have looked around the market but don't understand some of the terms and would like some second opinions on the matter. thanks

I am having a hell of a time finding out if you can a. hand color on matte ink jet printer photo paper, and b. if they make a paper for ink jet printers specifically for hand coloring. Had a great idea for a project this weekend and don't want to wait for a lab to develop my prints. So does anyone know the answers to either of these questions? no one at any of the craft or supply stores here know what the heck im talking about!! thanks!

So I have been playing around and trying different ways to print a decent picture that I have edited in photoshop. I have changed my resolutions from 150, then to 300 because I havent been getting the results I want. I also did change my image to cmyk. For some reason when I print the image it's not that "rich" in color. It almost looks too light. Everything on my computer looks great, just the way I want it. How come the colors are just not as dark? I have a printer that prints quality photo lab prints, however this is my first time using it. I know its cabaple of printing a nice image because somwhere along the lines I accidently printed the image and it printed just a cornor of the image which looked perfect. What settings do I use? I'm using photoshop cs2.

So for a photography assignment I have to take an image to a lab, I chose Costco, and print an image there using there printer profile. I went to dry creek photo's website and found the profile but it asks me to save it and I don't know where to save it. If someone could give me step by step instructions on what to do I would appreciate it! I have Windows Vista if that helps. Thanks!

I am trying to find a place where to print a few digital photos (high street or online... it doesn't matter). I decided to do a first test and I printed a couple of pictures at Boots. The results were appalling. The prints had nothing to do with the originals. They were over-saturated, they had an evident red cast (believe me... if I can spot a colour cast, it means it's very bad) and they were extremely dark. The printer couldn't be that bad. They must have run some evil enhancement algorithm that believed to be better than me at fixing a photograph. As far as I can see around, most printing services modify your pictures before printing them and there is no way to stop this thing from happening. Do you know of any company that lets you print your photos at a decent price and lets you choose whether you want your pics to be enhanced or not? I'm not looking for ultra-professional labs that charge me £2 per pictures and I am not even searching for an outstanding quality level. I just want an average lab that does not destroy my pictures before sending them to the printer.
