I have never flown before but I’m thinking about it. I know lately as you continue to hear about plane crashes, a lot of people may be afraid to fly. I think I might be a little worried because you never know what’s going to happen. Any aircraft experts, please answer my questions. 1.) how fast dose a plane run before it gets off the ground? 2.) how fast does a plane travel while it is in the air? 3.) how high does a plane travel? 4.) I want to experience flying. I was thinking about buying some airline tickets and taking a roundtrip someplace and then back home again. If I did that, would that be stupid considering I have no place I’m going? I just want to do this for the fun of it to see what flying is like. But since I have no place that I am really traveling to, would that be stupid of me to take a round trip someplace and then back? 5.) if I’m on a plane that is about to crash and I have a parachute in my possession, can I bust the window I’m next to and jump put with my parachute?

I know thare are a few. i live next to l.a.f.b. and nasa. and my dad works on experamental projects. he holds 7 patents 5 of wich have been used on the space shuttle. he told me the new plane he is working on uses a pulse detonation engine and he showed me what the contrails look like. he told me when the plane was going to fly over the area i can see the trail for myself it would be however 50,000 feet high so i wouldnt see the plane. i did see the contrail. about 9 years later i now see this same and similar contrails about twice a week in the summer time so i know these pulse detonation engines are being used and i know that they arent being used on civilian aircraft. im just curious how many planes are using this technology. and are they all experamental or dose the military acually use this type of power regularly? im just curious. my dad used to let me in on alot of this stuff and he passed away last year. but my curiosity never ends. one day i hope to follow his patents and work and follow his footsteps and reserch at nasa myself. but at this point in time i can only learn from my curiosity. so how many pulse detonation aircraft are bieng used? are they all experamentel or is this technology gone mainstream?

Hi everyone! I flew on a plane in March and I almost threw up I got so air sick. This time I'm going to take 2 Dimenhydrinate (aka: Dramamine). I'm also going to buy some ginger and I'm going to buy a bottle of ginger ale at the air port. Does anyone here get extreme motion sickness? And if so how do you treat it? I'm going to be on a plane for four (4) hours and I want to enjoy the ride and not be sick. Can anyone help me? The Dimenhydrinate dose has already been approved by my doctor. Ok I have recently acquired a Cessna 400 Corvalis TT, I have not yet flown it. Dose anyone know how many flying hours the Cessna 400 Corvalis TT can get? what is the fuel range? max alt? I beleive it can fit 2 people in the back and 2 pilots? any info on this before i take my plane out for a spin would be helpful

I am at the hospital they have wireless interment where i am. were waiting on the plane or helicopter to a children's hospital 3 hours and my mom might not make it in time for the sugary. They are to low tech here for me cuz i have other health problem ans to so and my heart doctor is 3 hours away so ya. they gave the docs something to keep and eye on to be sure it dose not burst while were on the plane or w/e i am so scared i hope my mom makes it in time she can't fly cuz its too small in the plane or helicopter they gave me loopy medicine so i would not worry so much and stuff. my mom called one of her friends who was a nurse and asked if she should bring me in cuz we do not have insurance and she said to do it a.s.a.p cuz i been having belly pain on that side were its located and she said it would not hurt to be on the safe side and guess what i got fricken appendicitis. Today is thursday I am going to get my ID Card today and iam not sure if they mail it to me or if they woudl give it to me rigth away at the MVA if they do give it to me rigth away then tommarow Friday iam going to the Post Office to renew my passport that is expired.........I leave for vacation on July 1 Tues i need to fly iam getting my passport expidited will i get my passport in time before i leave July1 Tues if i turn in the neccisary papers on June 6 Friday? A little over a year ago I worked as a flight attendant. After only 5 months of being with the company I got very sick and was hospitalized for 3 days then was given daily IV treatments for 2-3 weeks, followed by a high dose oral medication that made me very nauseated. Since I had to be at the doctor every day and then was nauseated, I couldn't fly. After things got better I attempted to go back to work picking up my schedule where I left off, however I was unable to access our online scheduling program (I was locked out) and they never called me to let me know I wasn't on the schedule anymore. I called the in-flight manager and she told me she couldn't put me back to work until she recieved doctor's notes. After turning in all of my doctor's excuses, my in-flight manager said that she was missing 1 week worth of notes/excuses. The airport that I went to fly out of (my base) is not the city that I live in. She told me that if I didn't fax her that final week by the end of the day I would be fired. Since I was not in my town and would not be able to get there in time by either driving (4.5 hours) or flying to get the notes I called her a quit. It has been over a year and I miss my job desperately! That in-flight manager has since been fired herself. I will addmitt that I was just out of college and took that job just for something to do and didnt take it seriously so I did call off once or twice and I had 1 incident of leaving my manual on the plane so they had to reschedule me until I got it back (it was my first trip) and another incident of me not being properly uniformed. However, after being on the job market and basically taking those desk jobs that my degree is for, I absolutely miss my old job! I've tried getting a job with another company but I think this company has not given me a good reference, besides this company has the domiciles I want to live in and I really enjoyed working for them before, especially comparing to other airlines. What should I say in my letter to the current in-flight suppervisor to help me appologize/explain my situation and ask for reconsideration and re-hire? Sorry I didn't spell check maybe I wont be such a "valueable" employee afterall ;-) And the uniform compliance, I wasn't actually on the job. I was in a crew room in an airport I wasn't familiar with. The crew room is situated outside, on the ramp, under the ops tower which means I had to walk across the ramp to get the the crew room. I had changed out of my skirt so i didnt have to wear heals (b/c that's part of the uniform if you wear a shirt) to walk across the airport to get lunch, I had my ID properly displayed (that's how they knew it was me who was out of uniform-no one confronted me there) however b/c I had to walk over the "airplain parking lot" to get to the crew room I had to be in full uniform which i didn't know since I am not based in this airport and none of our other crew rooms are positioned on the other end of a "staff only" area. So it's not like I wasnt earing my catholic school girl uniform to class, I wasnt even on the job, I just didn't know the rules.

I'm 19 years old and I would like to know what my dream meant. So I had this dream; I find myself on a small airplane and I'm at the controls. I'm still myself. (I have no experience flying) I was in fact flying. I don't know where I was flying to or from, but I think I was escaping something not sure. On the plane there were 5 adults including myself and 14 orphan children. I remember looking out and seeing that the tail wing was cracked. The plane was going down. I know that they say that in dreams if you are flying you've recently overcome something. This dream was not about flying, it was about crashing. After a few minutes of free falling I realize I have to crash land this thing or every one will die. I manage to put it down in one piece, I don't remember the specifics of how I did it. I look around the plane and see all the orphan kids lying on the floor under blankets, no one was hurt and when I got out of the plane I landed on what appeared to be the street I live on now(out side of my dream), I could recognize certain things like houses and the street and what not. I then go over to look at the cracked tail wing and I remember being really pissed; so much so that I punched it and it broke off. That was the last thing I remember. Dream part Two. This dream has nothing to do with the plane crash but it is somewhat similar and it was in the same night as the first dream. I'm driving my mothers car I was about to pull into the drive way of my old house (the house I lived in before the one in the plane story) but I saw my mom pulling in and I didn't want her to see me. She was driving the same car, some how we had two. I don't know why I didn't want her to see me I just remember driving down the hill past the house to avoid her. I start picking up speed going down this street. I notice two police cars in front of me at a stop sign. I go to hit the breaks only they wont budge, I have to swerve last minute to miss the two cop cars and go barreling into the extremely busy intersection. I remember thinking that I was going to be in a lot of trouble; one for crashing the car and; two for running a stop sign in front of two cops. (the thought of dieing never occurred to me, not sure if that is relevant) Every thing was happening in slow motion, I was the only one acting in real time. I decide my best option is to drive off the road and into this large field (this field dose not exist out side of my dream) to try and stop the car. I do so and was able stop the car. No one was hurt and neither was the car. I awoke with a violent jerk of my body and that was the end. So the question is. What does it mean? And is it strange that I had TWO dreams about "Safely" crashing in the same night?

Ok... I live in Atlanta GA in a place called Brookhaven (google it) . Today a B52 did a high speed pass at about 400 ft over my house . WOW ! COOL ! I love airplanes , especially military planes and more exited , I could not have been . A B52 !!! We don't see allot of these planes around here , mostly C-130's and C-5a's with the occasional F-22 , they build them here . Here is the thing though .... This B-52 flew rite through out-bound traffic coming out of PDK ??? I dont get it , PDK is probably one of the nations busiest small regional airports and this B-52 flew RITE through the outbound lanes that were in place today . How is this possible ? Did the pilot request permission for this ? How does this work ? If a military plane wants to do something crazy like this (which i am cool with) then what is the protocol ? Can anyone shed some light on this for me . I am all about high speed passes over my house , just not at the cost of a collision that could lead to the destruction of my house . So how dose all of that work ??? Please check back for follow up questions . Ok ... it was 400 ft , 500 at most . i have seen enough fly-bys' to know the altitude . I'm traveling alone and planning a weeklong trip to Singapore then on to the Philippines for 21 days. My intial and final major flying time should be at around 20 hours or more. How many meals should I expect on this plane? Can I bring extra food and drink as carry-on? If so within what size and amount limits? I will also have to take at least one dose of my 21 medications during the course of the flight what is the best way for me to package (pills, insulin, hypos) this as carry on? Should I carry all my medications in carry on in case my luggage is misdirected? I'm a wider person than most (350 lbs) and at times require the use of a cane. What are my chances of obtaining an seat upgrade simply due to my size/health? If not, what would be a good seat selection for me to have space, accomodations to/for my fellow travelers and the ability to stretch my left leg? What are my major expectations in regards to processing through customs/security? I'm not planning anything illegal but would like to avoid being hassled how can I best accomplish this? In regards to standard luggage, trouble sometimes finds me because I look an easy mark though I don't start trouble and do my best to avoid it I believe being prepared is a good motto. I will not carry a firearm to these nations but am certified in the use of an ASP tactical baton (extending baton), mace/pepper spray, and edged weapons.
