well, i know that the 1997 to 2001 model es300 only needs regular 87 octane gas (as stated in the owners manual) but i need to know does this also apply to the 1992 to 1996 es300? what octane gas is recommended for the 92 - 96 model es300.

Hey, I heard that some cars have better MPG when they actually use higher grade of fuel, well I am not sure what gas I should use. My car manual does not say anything about it, and I also was wondering if 1992 engine in my Lexus can benefit from higher grade fuel, or its just wasting of money and I should stick with regular gas??? Thanks.

Hey, I'm thinking of buying a 2000 Lexus ES300. I know it's recommended that Premium is put in the car, but I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with what would happen if you put Regular gas in it, or a similar car. And yes, I am aware that Premium is what's recommended. Please don't tell me to go read the manual, and please don't give me theoretical scenarios. I know all the theoretical scenarios. Please answer only if you either have experience, or know someone who did this. Thank you much =) Does engine knocking damage the car?

MY 2000 es300 has only around 30k miles and I've always used regular gas in it but yesterday when driving back from a long trip I just decided to use Super gas. And since then the car in running at very high rpm. the rpm needle goes up just as much as speed indicator. i had to drive for about 4 hours at 65 miles an hour at 3700rpm. What could be the problem? Could it be the super gas or some other problem? and also the engine light sign was on forcouple of days ago and i didn't have to get it checked until i came back.

Alright my car seems like it doesn't have power anymore, when I put it on drive it barely even moves. My friend told me this was a gas issue so I started putting premium again and it started to drive fine again but since the gas price is so high now I went back to regular gas. This is a 1996 lexus es300 130k miles. So now I was driving and then I was pressing on gas and all it was doing was reving and the car was not moving.. I shut off the car and turn it back on and put the gear to 2nd or L and it started moving slowly and then it moved again then I shut off the car and tried again and it didn’t move well this is scary so I stopped the car and parked it. While the car was on parked I notice the car was moving so I jumped back in and pull the E brakes. The transmission is like all burned out and is black. I don’t know what to do right now because I was pretty far from home and it’s about a 2hr drive back so I parked the car there and me and my buddy took the bus back. Well I’m planning on going back tomorrow to check on my car, what should I do ? What you think is the problem with the car ? I am going to have to try to drive it around to any mechanic shop around there and try to get it fixed. Since this car is old I already have a new car I’m planning on trying to sell it to someone around that area once It is fixed or maybe just sell it like that. I have to bring my car title and sign it over to the new owner. Thank you for hearing me out,.

Hi. Im 17 looking for a car. I want to spend around 4.5 - 5k for a car. I was origionally going to go with a Lexus ES300, but its mpg isnt that great and Super gas costs are pretty high. What sort of luxury cars out there that take regular gas and are reliable. I was looking at a Mazda 626, but people have said they're transmission have problems eventually.

Okay well i have around $17k from saving up since i was 13 and now im 17. Getting my lisence soon and i want a nice car for working week after week for 4 years straight. Im looking at a Lexus Es300 (years 01 and under). Lexus has its reliablity and its a luxury car. Insurance will be around 110$ a month. It has some flaws like paying for Super gas, OEM parts are REALLY high for a lexus. Or a Mustang convertible (years 04 and under). For one - its a mustang. Two - its a convertible. Takes regular gas. Insurance will be around 200$ a month. Im not sure about how much OEM parts are for the car. Could someone tell me? I work as a Nurses Aid and i make 11/hr so i can handle the prices. Which would you get?
