I am 21 years old, i have been diabetic for 19 years, I was in denial about i for most of my life, i stopped taking my injection properly from the age of 13 to about 19 with an average hba1c of 13-14,one day i realised how dangerous this was and decided it was time to look after myself. Since then i have been working really hard to get my blood sugars under control, the thing is in doing this i have put on 2 1/2 stone even thought i have been eating very well and exercising 5 days a week on average( dance classes, jujitsu, jogging, swimming), i i am also suffering bouts of extreme constipation, once ending up in ae with compacted bowel, I have talked to my doctors about this time and time again and they say the same thing, your boys just getting used to the changes you've made and the weight will work itself out, (once they even suggested that maybe i was at the weight i was meant to be, I am over a stone over the recommended healthy weight for my height with a bmi of 27, sound pretty ridiculous to me) well a year and a half later nothings changed, it feels like the more i do right the worse my body reacts, has any one else gone through this an can you please give me some tips?
also, I am a non smoker, I dont drink very often, I never eat chocolate or sweets, I gave up all fizzy drinks over a yar ago, I also avoide all artifical sweeners and msg like the plague.
I take nova rapid 3 time a day and lantus at night, I am amin to eat most protiens and veg, and (wolemeal carbs if i have to) I eat fruit once a day with a meal and I am checkin my blood sugars regularly

It hurts me to pee, and it causes me to be short with my family. I can't sleep at night. The other day I stubbed my toe and took it out on the dog. And two weeks ago I ran out of vanilla ice cream and struck my husband. Then I find out my husband's been dead for six years. Who the hell did I hit??

I was diagnosed with having pre diabetes over 2 years ago. A few months ago, I went to the dentist and he told me I needed a deep cleaning because I am starting to get gum disease. I take care of my teeth and I brush and floss so I dont know how this is possible? I was told by a friend of mine who has diabetes that it is common to have gum problems when you get diabetes. Has anyone else has problems with their gums?

My husband has had several health problems and the Dr.s can't figure out what it is. He recently found out that his blood sugar has been fluxuating. All of his lymph nodes are swollen, he feels like he has the flu all the time(body aches, chills, hot flashes). He has been depressed. He has no energy. He has mood swings. He has headaches alot. These things have lead him to Dr, to Dr. To Dr. They have done test after test, including surgery to biopsy a lymph node. No Cancer of any kind. They can't find anything. Can all of this be problems from the onset of diabetes and could it take YEARS before the diabetes actually show up? Is there something we should be looking for?
We have been told that his problem could be an auto immune disorder but they don't know which it is.
His kidneys were checked, I think. He had started having trouble because he was constantly going to the bathroom to pee and he was always thirsty.
He also had trouble with his fingers drawing up from time to time but that was years ago. It hasn't happened in years.
Just found out that his mother took some medicine for diabetes. She died at the age of 47 of a stroke or something along that line.

I have had issue with swallowing for a few months. For the last two days my swallowing has been fine. However, I just had some chocolate chip cookies and now my swallowing problems are back in a big way! Can it be (God forbid), that I have diabetes? Does diabetes cause swallowing problems?

I had the glucose test and they said my levels were slightly elevated so they sent me for the 3 hour test (which sucked) where they take blood every hour for three hours and they said all was normal except my hour two levels were slightly elevated but nothing way off normal. They still can't tell if I have it. What problems can it cause if I do have it?

I've been diagnosed with Diabetes 2 for about six years now, taking a pill twice a day, and of course I have all the signs and symptoms, to include swollen, painful, feet. My diet is really good and easy to follow. The swelling is only occassional, at the same time there appears to be red dots on the top of both feet all the time. WHAT is that? Respectfully
Ed

I have PCOS and Type II Diabetes, and I've done some research online about the ability to conceive. But, none of the sites really tell me if it's possible to get pregnant from one try. See my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex, and let's just say he "forgot to pull out". Has anyone like me ever gotten pregnant like that? Anyone with information PLEASE let me know! Thanks!

my mother and family flatly refuse to believe that falling sugar levels affect your judgement and amke you irritable which is especially hilarious given that she always complained bitterly about my father's lack fo sympathy to her health problems.
the worse one are the ones who think they know but are unaware about haow extensive and complicated diabetes is.

For some women with diabetes, vaginitis (inflammation of the vagina) can be recurrent. Bacterial vaginitis occurs due to yeast infection, and is the most common of the conditions. This can make sex painful, and is heralded by itching or burning sensations. Cystitis can also be a recurrent problem for women with diabetes.
