I need to interview a college professor tomorrow about the dalai lama, and i am not sure what i should ask him. I think i will start off basic by asking "What is the position of the Dalai lama"...but im not sure exactly what more advanced questions i should ask. I am trying to create a documentary for a class, and i need to focus on his impact on the world and what he has done to change things, mainly how will he be remembered 100 years from now. any help is greatly appreciated.

How do I cite this? I know how to cite, but this incorporates an incredibly important figure, so how do I cite the Dalai Lama? Is it, Lama, Dalai, or just The Dalai Lama or what?

The book is set in the near future and opens with the death of the present dalai lama. It follows the story of three monks and a journalist as they follow clues to find the new, reborn dalai lama and they travel through mountains and encounter violence in Tibet in the process of finding the child. I got this book from the library a while ago and really enjoyed it but can't remember what it is called. If anyone has read it and knows the name and or author I would be very grateful.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama is the leader of the Gelukpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism. There are Tibetan Buddhists from all over the world and of every race and many nationalities. The Dalai Lama is the spiritual leader of these people as well. Tibetan Buddhism is not just practiced in Tibet or among Tibetans anymore. Does the media not realize this? They always refer to him as being the spiritual leader of Tibetans, instead of just Tibetan Buddhists.

I am doing a school paper of religious influences in human sexuality. Is a Dalai Lama heterosexual, homosexual, or bisexual? What are the religious implications?
I asked this question in 'Religion and Spirituality', but didn't get many answers.
Thanks in advance for your contributions.

I know that the Dalai Lama is the head of Tibetan Buddhism.
I also know that he has political influence over many affluent leaders.
However, does he have any official role in the Government of the Tibetan Autonomous Region (Tibet).
Thank you.
By the way, I know that he has influence. Please don't just write that.
Thank you again.

My Question = When is the next kalachakra initiation offered by the Dalai Lama or another lama monk?
This initiation used to be offered by the Dalai Lama once every 20 years. But the current Dalai Lama offers it more frequently.

Talk is cheap. Let her show some actions for Dalai lama.
China at least built SIX more lama temples in the past 5 years. Should we ask Pelosi for ONE Lama Temple in San Franciso to show our genuine care about the Tibetan monks?

Hey I could not find exact details of this, any article links or information would be helpful. How has the Dalai Lama helped Tibetan society, what has he achieved so far with his protests against China etc.

Why is Obama not meeting with the Dalai Lama in Washington, D.C. this week? Is he afraid to raise the issue of human rights with China? What is going on? This fill me with dread for the future of the people of Tibet who have suffered much at the hands of the ruthless Chinese government.

I read that Obama cancelled his meeting with the Dalai Lama because the Chinese revile the Dalai Lama and pressures other governments not to meet with him. But Obama has not cancelled his meeting with Chinese President Hu Jintao in Beijing next month. So does Obama respect Jintao more than the Dalai Lama?
I know Obama is not a Buddhist, but is Obama that afraid of the Dalai Lama that he could not even meet with him for a few minutes?

I am wondering about using a quote of H.H. Dalai Lama on a tshirt that our foundation will sell at a Festival. Proceeds will benefit the event, future events, as well as several grass roots humanitarian causes for the Tibetan cause. Is there some place we would go to get a legal okay or someone we would pay a percentage to?

The Dalai Lama is an important religious figure in Tibetan Buddhism, right? Does that mean the exiled government is religious as well? What role do they play in Tibetan Buddhism?

News reports say the Dalai Lama turned 75 today (July 6), but he's already dead, so what's that about? Has the Dalai Lama's corpse been mummified or cryogenically frozen? Is the Dalai Lama on display like Lenin's corpse?

He promised US for a demonstration, and we are waiting for a photo shots showing to the world that China soldiers are shooting down peaceful monks in the Lhasa street. Instead, we got violent riots by Tibetans. Our tax payer money are wasted. Should Dalai lama say sorry about this ?

My Question = Make Dalai Lama the US prez for a year or 2. How will he change the US foreign policy?
Will he be able to reduce the violence? Will he be able to reduce the hatred against the US in the middle east? Don't you think leaders like Dalai Lama should be given a more active role in politics rather than letting him live a life of a refugee in India? Do you think he will make a better president than Bush?

I read about a program in which the Dalai Lama and UNESCO (branch of the United Nations) are constructing kindergartens in poorer communities world wide. I would like to be a part of this group. I've written to the contact information for the Lama and for UNESCO but no one has answered. What else can I do? I would like to be a part of this particular program.

The Dalai Lama will be coming to speak at a local town nearby me to commemorate a Buddhist sanctuary garden where there will be an unveiling of 1,000 statues of Buddha. The town's population is about 602 people, so there will be more Buddha statues in that town than people! What do you think of that? And, should I go see the Dalai Lama speak? Thanks for your thoughts!

Or could you suggest what The Dalai Lama's best books are?
I'm interested in books by the Dalai Lama aimed at the lay person, not in-depth meditation instructions, or more complex technical Buddhist discussion.
Could you please say a little about what the book is about, and why you are recommending it.
Thanks for any help.

Seeing the 2 of them together yesterday my first thought was, If the Dalai Lama was running for the Republicans instead of McCain, I might take a closer look.. I mean, the guy may be old, but he looks alot better and moves quicker than McCain

Wikipedia doesn't really specify. I'm assuming he speaks Mandarin Chinese, since that's the official language of China, and he lives in China. I know that he also speaks English, since I've heard him speak it. He speaks with a weird Indian accent, though. Why does he have that accent anyway? But the Pope speaks a ton of different languages, so I'm assuming the Dalai Lama has to as well.

As supposedly claimed by the Beijing government, the Dalai Lama has been accused of instigating riots in Tibet, France, and the United States, and the attempts to douse the Olympic torch that symbolizes the supreme significance of peace and unity. Could he really had, in his quest for Tibetan autonomy?

i'm looking for the meaning of reckless abandon, but still trying to find out what the entire quote means, or at least what the dalai lama was trying to convey.
